It's back... Get ready for the hype people. It's funny. I've had a countdown to 2012 up on Mystic Muse for years and no one's noticed. So, take a visit, scroll to the bottom and see how long we've got left. Personally, I'm gonna be laughing my ass off on December 22, 2012 just like I was on January 1, 2000. But hey...the CGI looks way cool. --->Susan

Check out this clip from Simon Cowell's Britain's Got Talent show which airs, strangely enough, in Britain. Susan Boyle is a 47-year old spinster, self-proclaimed never been kissed, lives alone with her cat. The audience and judges give her the typical patronizing attitude, ready to write this woman off faster than Chuck Barris with his gong. That is, until she opens her mouth and blows them all away... Sometimes in life, it's wonderful when an old cliché like "never judge a book by its cover" proves true. God Bless you, Susan! --->Susan
Stephen has always been one of my heroes. Anyone who has the balls to get into Bush's face and tell the truth is okay in my book. I stand by this man. I stand by this man because he stands for things. Not only for things, he stands on things. Things like aircraft carriers, and rubble, and recently flooded city squares. And that sends a strong message: that no matter what happens to America, she will always rebound—with the most powerfully staged photo ops in the world." http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-869183917758574879--->Susan

This is the history of our country. --->Susan

My friend and colleague Drew posted an amusing commentary about Bush's farewell speech. The quotes are what Bush said and what follows is what Drew says Bush really meant. Enjoy... --->Susan ( Peek Here )
Tuesday, January 20th, 2009 at 12:01 pm A National Day of Renewal and ReconciliationMoments ago, in his first official act since taking the oath of office, President Barack Obama issued a proclamation, calling on Americans to serve one another and our common purpose on this National Day of Renewal and Reconciliation. Check it out below, or read it on the WhiteHouse.gov proclamations page. NATIONAL DAY OF RENEWAL AND RECONCILIATION, 2009 - - - - - - - BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA A PROCLAMATION As I take the sacred oath of the highest office in the land, I am humbled by the responsibility placed upon my shoulders, renewed by the courage and decency of the American people, and fortified by my faith in an awesome God. We are in the midst of a season of trial. Our Nation is being tested, and our people know great uncertainty. Yet the story of America is one of renewal in the face of adversity, reconciliation in a time of discord, and we know that there is a purpose for everything under heaven. On this Inauguration Day, we are reminded that we are heirs to over two centuries of American democracy, and that this legacy is not simply a birthright -- it is a glorious burden. Now it falls to us to come together as a people to carry it forward once more. So in the words of President Abraham Lincoln, let us remember that: "The mystic chords of memory, stretching from every battlefield and patriot grave to every living heart and hearthstone all over this broad land, will yet swell the chorus of the Union, when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature." NOW, THEREFORE, I, BARACK OBAMA, President of the United States of America, by the authority vested in me by the Constitution and laws of the United States, do hereby proclaim January 20, 2009, a National Day of Renewal and Reconciliation, and call upon all of our citizens to serve one another and the common purpose of remaking this Nation for our new century. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this twentieth day of January, in the year of our Lord two thousand nine, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and thirty-third.

Being among the millions of unemployed, I've managed to keep my head above water by starting my own freelance writing and editing business which I call The WriteMuse. One of the best ways to promote a business is to write blogs that provide information people are interested in and – hopefully – encourage them to avail themselves of my services. To that end, WriteMuse's blog will focus on topics related to writing and editing, which pretty much consists of things I've learned about such over the years. So if you are interested, I invite you to read my first topic: The Fundamentals of Fiction: Show Don't Tell. If you'd like future updates, fill in your email address in the box to the right or subscribe through your favorite RSS feed. Thanks! --->Susan

Took a drive around town today and decided to stick my camera out the window. It's from the beach at Sunrise Boulevard and A1A, down Las Olas and downtown from Broward Boulevard to the police station. Enjoy. --->Susan
Sat, Jan. 3rd, 2009, 09:30 pm Never Again

When I was twelve years old my mom married a Jewish man who lived with his two children, both older than me, and his father who had immigrated to the United States fleeing the Russian revolution. Sol, my step-father, wasn't very religious – I expect Korea had cured him of that – but he was very much aware of being a Jew in that he was conscious of the history of the persecution of the Jews. He knew that any family his father had left behind was long gone and his children would never know them. ( More Under Cut )--->Susan
